Vidhya Kannan, P.T., is a Physical Therapist who recently joined our rehabilitation team at the Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center. She is licensed as a physical therapist by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy. Her professional background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a broad range of clinical experience. Ms. Kannan received her Bachelor’s from the T.N. Dr.M.G.R. Medical University in India and completed Research Methodology at Northern Virginia Community College. Her internship included comprehensive training in cardiac rehabilitation, the intensive care and burn units, as well as in neurological and orthopedic physical therapy. Vidhya has also achieved comprehensive training by Accelerated Care Plus in utilizing electrical stimulation to alleviate pain and maximize function. She has over 6 years of experience as a physical therapist.

 Vidhya had been practicing physical therapy in varied settings until she found her passion in outpatient orthopedics.  She has a particular interest in shoulder pathologies and her approach includes manual therapy techniques, focusing on restoring normal arthokinematics.
